Bristol, New Hampshire – The public boat access facility serving Lake Newfound in Wellington State Park in Bristol, New Hampshire will be closed for one day to allow for the removal of a floating dock at the boat launch. the water. When removing the dock, the cartops and trailers entry ramps will be in the setback of the crane safety area and work area. For this reason, the ramps will be closed and there will be no possibility of launching or retrieving motor boats, sailboats, canoes, kayaks or other self-propelled watercraft during this period. The ramp parking will also be closed to the public. The paid parking lot for the beach in Wellington State Park will remain open in accordance with the Department of Natural Resources and Cultural Resources Beach Operation Schedule and posted rules.
NH Fish and Game’s statewide public boat access program is funded by boat registration fees and federal funds for wildlife restoration and sport fishing. Fish and Game’s Facility and Land Construction division is acquiring land for public water access sites, renovating existing sites and constructing new public access areas for boats.
