Michigan AFL-CIO Announces Approved Nominees for the August primary elections
LANSING, MI – Today, Michigan’s AFL-CIO released another round of endorsements ahead of the August primary election, following a vote by the General Council and Executive Council.
“Michigan working families need elected officials who will fight for our union freedoms more than ever,” said Ron BIEBER, president of the AFL-CIO of Michigan. “The labor movement has faced attack from all quarters, and naming our pro-worker candidates to power will help ensure that every Michigander retains their right to join a union, bargain collectively and advocate for a safer workplace.”

The Michigan AFL-CIO Questionnaire is comprised of a range of political issues that impact the lives of union members and their families across Michigan. The questions are taken from the Michigan AFL-CIO Policy Platform which was formally adopted at the union’s legislative convention in the fall of 2021 and covers issues such as fighting for the repeal of the so-called right to work, restoring prevailing wages, increasing the funding of education and building a cleaner, greener economy.
The Michigan AFL-CIO, Michigan’s largest labor organization, is a federation of forty different labor organizations, eighteen local labor councils, and eight constituency groups representing more than one million union members and their families.
