22 november Local Home Care Business Raises Money on Dementia Awareness Day

The local home care business, Home Place South Woodham Ferrers, recently raised awareness in the local community about dementia by hosting an information booth in the local town center.

Home Place shared flyers about dementia and the care available for people living with the disease. They were able to raise £ 202.74 for Dementia UK, a national charity helping people living with or personally affected by the disease.

Dorothy Nwankwo, Owner of Home Place commented: “Dementia is something close to my heart. Many of our elderly clients live with dementia and we see firsthand how it affects those who have it, their families and friends. Most importantly, it was great to spread awareness about dementia as it is a disease that many people misunderstand.

“For people living with the disease, there is not only residential care as an option – Home Authentique offers specialized dementia care that supports people living with the disease in their own home, the most space. familiar in which they feel safe. “

Susan Garret, Registered Manager at Home Place, said: “It’s great to get out and move around the community and meet people after so many months of impossibility, during the pandemic. We are here to fully support our local community and we love to get involved. Please watch for many more events and activities as we go along! “
