An Australian burger restaurant has reportedly been forced to change its name after receiving a cease and desist letter from Kanye West.

Thursday, June 30, an Australian media Western Australia today reported that local burger co-owner Mark Elkhouri, founder of College Dropout Burgers, has received backlash from his idol Kanye West in the form of threats of legal action if he does not rename his restaurant. Apart from the title, which refers to Ye’s debut album, University dropoutthe restaurant offers menu items that allude to Ye’s songs and LP, such as the Golddigger, a fried chicken burger, the Good Morning breakfast burger, and a Cheezus burger.

“It’s quite difficult to be a Kanye West fan in this situation, we have to respect his wishes and move on,” Elkhouri told the newspaper.

Elkhouri first thought Kanye West was a fan of his restaurant when the rapper started viewing his Instagram Stories last week. It turns out that Ye may have collected some evidence.

“The fact that he looked at our [Instagram] The stories and his presence made me believe he was a fan of us,” Elkhouri added.

Due to the threat of legal action, Elkhouri changes his name and changes the names of his previously Kanye-themed offerings. He also changes the logo, which was a variant of Kanye’s. Graduation bear.

“Moving forward, I feel like it’s a bit of a blessing in disguise,” Elkhouri said. “Because let’s face it, not everyone is a fan of Kanye West.”

However, he hasn’t let the legal situation affect his Kanye West fandom.

“I am extremely disappointed. There’s no doubt about it, but it doesn’t even come close to the impact he’s had on my life,” Elkhouri added.

XXL has reached out to Kanye West’s attorney and his team for comment.

This isn’t the first time recently that Kanye West has called on a brand. Earlier this month, he lambasted Adidas for allegedly stealing the design of his Yeezy Slide.
