Construction of Fethard primary care center to start in June

Construction of the new primary care center in Fethard is expected to begin in June.
The primary care center will be located on the existing Fethard Town Park campus with sports facilities, walkways and a cafe.
Senator Garret Ahearn, on the site Monday, confirmed the government funding announcement and the project’s start in June.
“The opening of a primary care center in Fethard will be a first class health facility in the region with access to a range of quality health services for the local population. This will have a significant impact on residents of Fethard and surrounding areas as people will be able to have their health care needs met closer to home,” Senator Ahearn said.
He met local GPs who will move into the new primary care center when completed.
“This is an exciting step forward for health services in the area, the community deserves nothing less and we look forward to the move to Fethard Town Park in the near future,” said Molly Owens, Fethard GP.
This announcement follows announcements to locate the Regional Center of Excellence for Tipperary Football and Munster Rugby at the Fethard Town Park campus.
