Fireworks show at Victoria’s Inner Harbor on Canada Day at 10:20 p.m.

Sydney Days and Canada Day

Kick off the festivities today in Beacon Park with opening ceremonies and live music from the Bankes Brothers from 7.30pm and fireworks to follow.

Canada Day events continue Friday. The Sidney Lions are hosting their pancake breakfast at the Mary Winspear Center at 8 a.m. The Canada Day Parade begins at 11:30 a.m. and is followed by the family carnival at Iroquois Park. Slegg Build-a Boat takes place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. with the launch at 4:45 p.m. from Beacon Park. Get all the details at sidney.ca

Victoria

Canada Day 2022 presented by Central Walk, Friday at Ship Point at the Inner Harbour, featuring diverse and local performances. The main stage, highlighted by Jesse Roper, features Garret T. Willie, Don Alder, Capital City Syncopators, Claire Coupland, Victoria Children’s Choir and the Wong Sheung Kung Fu Club Chinese Lion Dancers, performances by the Veselka Ukrainian Dancers and Kalyna Ukrainian Choir. Plus, interactive activities, experiential exhibits, multicultural culinary options and a fireworks display will wrap up the day’s festivities at 10:20 p.m. For more information, visit canadadayvictoria.ca.

Saanich

Canada Day Gorge Picnic along the Gorge Waterway. Esquimalt

21 cannon shots at Bullen Park. As part of Canada Day celebrations, a 21-gun salute will take place in Esquimalt at Bullen Park from 1 to 1:15 p.m.

Langford

The Langford 30th Anniversary and Canada Day events will take place at Starlight Stadium from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will include live music with local musician Vince Vaccaro headlining, a contest of eating hot wings and a blue ribbon pie baking contest, among others. West Shore RCMP will be demonstrating the K9 unit and Langford Fire Rescue will be hosting a firefighter obstacle course. Also enjoy a family movie shown on the lawn. Details on langford.ca

Chemainus

ladysmith

The festivities begin in the morning with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Ladysmith Kinsmen Club, then the official ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. in the amphitheater with a welcome from dignitaries and a performance by the Stz’uminus Young Wolves Dancers. Live music begins at 11:30 a.m. with Nate Harris followed by Robbie Hancock. As part of the celebrations, we will be giving away cupcakes from the Old Town Bakery. Celebrate Canada Day as part of Duncan’s 39 Days of July.
